Expert gives Championship prediction after weekend matches - where Bristol City, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest finish

Bristol City's two frustrating draws in a row could cost them a place in the play-offs according to a data model created to predict the Championship finish.

The Robins have dropped four points in two matches, drawing 2-2 against both Wigan Athletic and Barnsley.

Whilst Lee Johnson's men are still in a healthy position, sat sixth in the Championship and just three points off leaders Preston North End, a data model created by Nate Silver's Five Thirty Eight website does not fancy their chances of making the play-offs.

The model is based on how teams are performing in defence and attack, combined with their current form and remaining fixtures.

City's two draws have left them with a 22 per cent chance of making the play-offs, an 11 per cent chance of winning promotion, and just a two per cent chance of winning the title.

The Robins are predicted to finish eighth in the division with 67 points, four points off sixth-placed Swansea City.

Elsewhere, Leeds United are predicted to stroll to the title ahead of West Brom in second.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have a 40 per cent chance of winning the title and a 68 per cent likelihood of going up.

Fulham, Preston, Brentford and Swansea are all tipped for the play-offs, with Nottingham Forest missing out by a point.

At the other end of the division, Barnsley, Luton Town and Middlesbrough are all predicted to go down.
