Expert claims we've been opening bananas wrong our whole lives

According to an online blog, we've been opening bananas wrong our whole lives.

While humans tend to open theirs from the stem, apparently we should be copying monkeys and peeling from the bottom of the fruit.

With over 100 billion bananas consumed every year, it’s a wonder it's taken us this long to figure it out.

On the bright-side, this revolutionary method means you can use the stem as a handle!

The method was posted online for a cooking website called instructables and details how “often people peel bananas from the stem down.

“This causes them to bruise and get mushy after a few attempts.

“Monkeys do not peel bananas like this, they peel them from the top down.”

It seems the “proper” way to peel a banana has been circulating for some time, with TikTok videos emerging left right and centre explaining the new way to open bananas - and people are not happy about the change.

One Twitter user responded to the method saying; “I just learned that my wife peels a banana from the bottom, thought she was crazy, then learned that this is the *proper* way to peel a banana and that *I* am the crazy one, and now I feel like my whole life has been a lie.”

Another wrote; “TikTok is ruining people's lives.

“My mom told be the proper way to peel a banana is from the bottom of the f*cking bananas.

“Then proceeded to get mad when I peeled from the stem. Like, it's not that serious. And whooooo peels from the ass of the banana?!”
