Expensive watches and cash seized in EncroChat raids

Police have arrested two men and seized significant amounts of cash and expensive watches in a drug supply raid.

Detectives from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit supported by Merseyside Police arrested two men on the morning of Thursday, December 16.

Officers carried out warrants on two addresses in the early hours of December 16 on conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and conspiracy to import Class A drugs.

They arrested a 46-year-old man and a 38-year-old man, both from Liverpool.

The arrests form part of the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit's response to the national Operation Venetic.

Operation Venetic is a police investigation into criminals using encrypted mobile devices and code names to communicate.

As part of their searches, officers seized significant quantities of cash, expensive watches and a number of electric scooters and cycles.

The two men remain in police custody for questioning.
