Expected Tottenham team to face Everton: Pochettino to make 5 changes as injuries strike

Mauricio Pochettino has a serious lack of options when it comes to his Tottenham Hotspur team selection as they face Everton in their final Premier League game of the season.

Spurs just need to ensured there's no eight-goal swing with Arsenal in order to keep their top four spot and if Chelsea fail to win then a victory against the Toffees at the new stadium would be enough to see Spurs finish in third place.

Pochettino is without the injured Harry Kane (ankle), Harry Winks (groin), Davinson Sanchez (thigh) and Jan Vertonghen (ankle).

He also cannot call upon Son Heung-min and Juan Foyth are both serving the first game in their three match bans after their red cards at Bournemouth.

There will also be assessments made on Danny Rose (hamstring) and Victor Wanyama (thigh) who picked up injuries in the Champions League triumph at Ajax.

Pochettino told football.london that he would plug any gaps on his bench with academy players if need be.

Speeches, anger, tears and fireworks - The inside story of Spurs' amazing night in Amsterdam

Much depends on the fitness of Rose and Wanyama as well as whether Erik Lamela, who came off the bench in Amsterdam, and Serge Aurier, who returned to training this week, are fit enough to start a match.

The Spurs boss could give young players Kyle Walker-Peters and Oliver Skipp a rare start and he must decide whether Eric Dier or Ben Davies steps in to play alongside Toby Alderweireld with all the other first team centre-backs injured or suspended.

Here's the team we reckon Pochettino will go with:

(4-2-3-1) Lloris; Walker-Peters, Dier, Alderweireld, Davies; Sissoko, Alli; Lamela, Eriksen, Lucas; Llorente.
