April 29--Downtown Sound, the free summer music series at Millennium Park, has expanded to 16 nights. The concerts, previously held on Monday nights, picked up an additional six nights and expanded their artistic range to include world music, and the electronic sounds that were formerly under the aegis of Loops and Variations. The series runs June 1-July 23.
A highlight for local music fans will be the June 29 appearance of Poi Dog Pondering, the Frank Orrall collective. And on July 13, pop-rocker Matthew Sweet visits town.
