Exorcist priest Fr Pat Collins is set to speak at a €15-a-head Halloween-themed event for young Catholics in October.

The Evangelium Project is hosting the half-day conference in Dublin aimed at 18-40 year olds entitled Towards Halloween – Souls, Saints and So Much More.

Speakers listed on the schedule include Fr Brian McKevitt, who will speak on the topic of heaven, and Fr Donncha O hAodha, who will speak about purgatory. Fr Collins, a trained psychologist, will give a talk on Deliverance and Spiritual Freedom.

The Dublin-based Vincentian priest said there has been a sharp rise in the number of people being targeted and oppressed by “evil spirits”.

Calling for more trained exorcists within the Catholic Church, Fr Collins said: “It is a source of scandal that more is not being done in the Church to protect against this.”

In June, Fr Collins told the Irish Catholic there was a “growing need for deliverance” as people moved away from the Church.

He said he believed Covid was a “dress rehearsal” for the “great tribulation”.

The Towards Halloween event at St Teresa’s Church in Clarendon Street in Dublin city will take place from 11am to 5pm on Saturday, October 8.
