Exmouth man pleads not guilty to shooting

An Exmouth man has pleaded not guilty in the local magistrates court in relation to a shooting in July.

Police say 35-year-old Adam Benedict Lagun went to a home in Fitzharding Street and threatened to kill the owner of the house.

It is alleged Mr Lagun then fired a shot from a rifle narrowly missing the complainant.

He has been charged with aggravated burglary, threatening to kill and discharging a firearm in a dwelling and has been bailed to re-appear in the Carnarvon District Court in January.

Editor's Note, February 4, 2019: These charges were later ruled "nolle prosequi" — meaning they were discontinued — when the matter was dealt with in the District Court on October 30, 2006.
