An exhibition inspired by the historic Galloway Glens hydro scheme has opened in Dumfries.
The Pennies From Heaven display features work by Dalry photographers Morag Paterson and Ted Leeming.
Artists Jason Nelson, from Dundee, and Catherine Major from Moffat are also exhibiting.
The quartet led guided walks round Tongland Power Station and Earlstoun Power Station near Dalry to inform the exhibition.

The centrepiece is a large image created by Morag showing lochs and rivers of the hydro scheme.
She said: “When the hydro scheme started some people thought of it as pennies from heaven.
“That’s because the rain on the Galloway hills was being turned into clean energy that could power thousands of homes.

“But the brutal reality is that our demand for energy and consumer goods has just continued to grow and we now face a climate change emergency. This exhibition prompts questions about these issues and what we need to do to change.”
Ted said: “Just doing your recycling is simply no longer enough. We have to change our habits as consumers and our energy use as a society.”
