Executive search firm names new chief executive

Eden Scott has named its founder and director as the new chief executive.

The executive search and selection firm has now officially appointed Michelle Lownie into the role she has been preforming since last March.

The company was initially run by the three founders - Lownie, along with Guy Martin and Chris Logue - since creation in 2003, but she has now become the sole company leader.

Co-directors Martin and Logue remain engaged at Eden Scott, continuing business development activity alongside their current board roles.

During the last 12 months, the firm has navigated continued growth across healthcare, clean-tech, life sciences and the wider technology sectors - as well as coping with the challenges of Covid-19 and Brexit.

A statement explained that the business has been "re-balanced with both existing and nascent market opportunities" and has started recruiting additional staff.

Lownie said: “Our financial year has just drawn to a close, and it looks like we will have some very positive numbers to share; reduced Covid-related turnover, yes, but with some very strong profits to report.

"This is great news for the team here as the prior year had been a flat operations year for us, mainly due to Brexit uncertainty, wrought worse by a circa £300,000 dilapidations bill to settle as we moved from our long-held St Andrews Square HQ to more modern, open-plan space overlooking Princes Street."
