A SEARCH for a man wanted on warrants at Raymond Terrace lad led police to several cannabis plants growing inside a residential property.
Port Stephens-Hunter officers went to Elwin Road looking for a 30-year-old man on Tuesday.
"Upon arrival police discovered a hydroponic set-up with a number of cannabis plants growing in several areas within the residence," police said.
The plants were seized and officers established a crime scene. Investigations into the drugs continue.
The 30-year-old man was arrested elsewhere and charged with several offences.
Separately, a man will face court on Wednesday after a pursuit that ended due to mechanical fault with a vehicle.
Police began pursuing a Commodore sedan at Telarah about 2.20pm, but the chase lasted "about a minute" before the vehicle stopped.
A 27-year-old Mayfield man driving the car was arrested and charged with police pursuit, drive in a dangerous manner, drive without a licence and custody of a knife.
He was refused bail to face court on Wednesday.
In a third incident, detectives evacuated Port Stephens Council chambers about 1pm on Tuesday after an employee received a bomb threat.
Investigators established a command post and swept the building but found no suspicious items.
"It is believed that several other businesses and locations were targeted by bomb threats around NSW at about the same time the threat was received at the council," police said.
"Port Stephens - Hunter detectives are investigating."
