Exclusive: Wael Al-Qadi discusses Bristol Rovers' January transfer plans

Wael Al-Qadi has confirmed Bristol Rovers boss Paul Tisdale has been given a chance to shape the club's transfer plans for this month.

The Gas boss arrived in November, and has been meticulous in assessing the squad he inherited from Ben Garner, identifying key areas which require bolstering.

With the January transfer window opening last Saturday, Bristol Live spoke exclusively to Rovers owner Al-Qadi on the club's transfer policy for the weeks ahead, among other topics.

"Paul has identified certain areas where we should strengthen and with Tommy’s department, he always works ahead and as far as he’s concerned he is ready to execute on what Tis would ask of him," the club president said.

"From their discussions and what Paul’s seen in his time here, he would have relayed what is required in order to improve the team to the style and to the vision he wants and what we want.

"I think it’s more about fine tuning than anything. I don’t think it will be major, so it’s just about identifying a few areas that need fixing."

Since the interview was recorded, Rovers completed the loan signing of Cardiff City goalkeeper Joe Day.

Bristol Live spoke to Wael Al-Qadi on a range of topics and the full interview will be released this week.
