Exclusive video shows how new Manchester College campus at old Boddingtons Brewery site will look

This exclusive video shows how the new £93m Manchester College on the site of the old Boddingtons Brewery will look.

The campus, opposite on the AO Arena, is set to open in September.

It will provide state-of-the-art facilities for students hoping for careers in creative and digital industries.

Around 3,000 students are expected to start BTECs, T-levels and degrees in a wide range of subjects including computing and digital, creative and digital, hospitality and catering, performing arts and visual arts.

The cutting edge campus will include a Hollywood-style Green room for animation and film production, music studios and a 'Jewel Box' theatre - the centrepiece of the building with 180 seats.

Chefs will hone their trade in a restaurant open to the public, while artists can make use of wall space to display their work.

Speaking in November last year Lisa O'Loughlin, Principal of The Manchester College and its higher education provider UCEN Manchester, said: "If you think about when Boddingtons was here, a lot of local people would have travelled in from Lancashire, it was part of the regional economy - now the creative and digital industries contribute £2.6billion to the Greater Manchester economy.

"That's what we want to see, really exciting careers that are future proof.

"We've got a long history with Manchester's communities, we understand our students and their backgrounds.

"It's about making sure communities come here, rub shoulders with people who have great careers and money to spend.

"We want that. We want kids from Harpurhey, or Wythenshawe, or Ardwick or Cheetham Hill to come here and have those kind of opportunities.

"It's their city and this is their college, it's in the heart of the city and an opportunity to reclaim that space."
