EXCLUSIVE: Simeon Jackson training with Kilmarnock as he attempts to win Rugby Park deal

Simeon Jackson is battling to win a deal with Kilmarnock, the Kilmarnock Standard can exclusively reveal.

The former St Mirren striker started training at Rugby Park yesterday (Monday) as he looks to find a club after leaving the Paisley side in June.

Killie are on the hunt for another forward after Osman Sow picked up an ankle injury during the 0-0 draw with Ross County and is expected to be out until November. Eamonn Brophy also had to be subbed off against Hearts with a hamstring injury.

The 5ft 8in hitman fired in six goals in 22 starts last season, including a strike against Killie in December during a 2-1 win for the Ayrshire side at Rugby Park, as he helped guide St Mirren to Premiership survival.

He played in the English Premier League for Norwich, scoring three goals in 22 in his first PL season.

He has been around the leagues since, playing for Bundesliga side at the time Eintracht Braunschweig, before playing with Millwall, Coventry, Barnsley, Blackburn, Walsall and Grimsby before arriving in Paisley.
