Exclusive - Rajneesh Duggal on his life's 'Sanjog': Vikram Bhatt saw me on Raymond's hoarding and I bagged my first movie 1920 Love Story

Bollywood actor Rajneesh Duggal, who is all set to be seen in a new TV show, Sanjog with actor Shefali Sharma, Kamya Panjabi, and Rajat Dahiya, is quite excited about his fiction show debut. The actor in an exclusive chat with ETimes TV revealed about his character, his life's Sanjog and how he prepared for the role. He further shared what made him say yes to the show.

"I am very excited for the release of the show which is coming from August 22. We are looking forward to the amount of hard work and hope, that it will bear fruits. I also hope that the audience would like our show. We just want to give our best to the show. When I was offered the sho,w I found the story and my character very interesting, especially the overall track. It sounded and while I am playing the character also, it is seeming very interesting. I am finding the role very entertaining. I am glad I said yes to the show," he said.

Talking about how his destiny played an important role in him joining Bollywood, Rajneesh opened up about the 'Sanjog', "I had no plans of joining Bollywood or meeting filmmaker Vikram Bhatt. Suddenly, after making 12 films and being on a sabbatical, he decided to return and make a film. He met me and when I asked him where he spotted me or saw me, he told me I saw you on Raymond's hoardings and we liked you. He said- we met a lot of people but we liked you. He met me and liked me for the role. He then asked me if I knew the entire Hanuman Chalisa and I said yes. He was shocked because frankly, he didn’t believe that during those days anybody would know Hanuman Chalisa by heart. There was something that clicked and it was a pure Sanjog that I ended up doing 1920 Love Story and entered films. Before that I had no such plans," shared the 1920 Love Story actor.

Rajneesh further spoke about how being a father in real-life helps him play on-screen father with ease, "I am already a father and I have a daughter, I can relate to my character and understand the father-daughter relationship. I also know how to work with kids and play with them and spend time with them. But there are other different things in Rajiv, my character that Rajneesh doesn’t have. So, I had to work a lot on it and I did a lot of homework. I watched special films and shows to imbibe those qualities. So that I can play Rajiv better."

Rajneesh is not at all bothered about TRP number and he believes in the story of Sanjog, "The story has been written so beautifully and there are so many twists and turns and drama because of which at the moment we are not at all thinking about TRP. We are coming at 10 PM which is a new time slot, especially after COVID, which will play an important part. I hope people will like the story," he concluded.
