Exclusive presale tickets for Liverpool vs Napoli in Edinburgh on sale today

Liverpool Football Club will face Serie A side Napoli at the BT Murrayfield in Edinburgh next month.

The European Champions League winners will travel to Edinburgh for friendly on Scottish soil in July as part of Jurgen Klopp's pre season preparations.

The match takes place just three days after Liverpool's match with Sporting Lisbon in New York and will give Liverpool's Scottish fans a chance to see the side in the capital city.

It is not the first time Liverpool have faced Napoli in a pre season friendly away from Anfield.

Last season over 50,000 supporters packed in to Dublin's Aviva Stadium to see Liverpool beat Napoli 5-0. Goals that day came from James Milner, Gini Wijnaldum, Mo Salah and two players who have recently departed, Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno.

Napoli were also part of this season's historic Champions League run. When they met one another in the group stage, Klopp and Ancelotti split two 1-0 victories between them. Liverpool's at Anfield saw them through to the knockouts at the expense of their Italian opponents.

Liverpool FC and Scotland

This July's game will be the first time Liverpool have played in Scotland since facing Hearts in a Europa League qualifier back in August 2012.

Liverpool's fans don't need to be reminded about the significant role Scotland has played in Liverpool's famous and storied past dating back to the 'Team of Macs' in the late 1800s.

It is also, of course, the birthplace of club legends like Kenny Dalglish, Bill Shankly, Billy Liddell, Graeme Souness, Ian St John, Alan Hansen, Steve Nicol and Gary McAlister.

Liverpool's current Scottish representative, fan favourite Andy Robertson, now captains his national side, which is managed by former Liverpool assistant Steve Clarke.
