Exclusive! Pooja Banerjee returns to TV with Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2; actress says, 'I was more nervous about facing Mumbai traffic than the camera'

Pooja Banerjee is all set to return to television. We have exclusively learnt that she will play Priya and Ram Kapoor’s daughter Pihu in Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2, post the leap. The actress, who was earlier seen in Kumkum Bhagya, delivered a baby in February 2022 and is now looking forward to facing the camera again. Excerpts from a quick chat:

How does it feel getting back to work after a year-long break?

I was looking forward to facing the camera, it’s my dopamine. Also, I have been shooting for some project from the comfort of my home. But stepping out of my comfort zone, leaving my baby at home and going back to the set wasn’t easy. I think facing the Mumbai traffic made me more nervous than facing the camera! I am glad to be back; it gives me a different kind of happiness. I feel at home being on the set.

Were you looking to return to work at this point or was the role in Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2 too tempting to decline?

I wanted to return to work. In fact, just a week ago, I was talking to my husband (professional Indian swimmer Sandeep Sejwal) about this and he was supportive, too. Sana now eats solid food, plays with her toys and is comfortable with our househelp, so I thought I could start working again. But yes, this happened in no time. The universe manifests the thought you have, because I was just talking about it, and voila... I was offered a role in Bade Acche! I am excited to play this sassy boss girl character, and from the kind of narration that I got, it seems fabulous.

How much has life changed for you in the last one year?

It’s been wonderful. Motherhood is empowering. I have enjoyed every moment with my baby in the last one year. Yes, I have changed in many ways too. Today I am nervous when I have to step out and leave

my child at home. It’s a different feeling now because you are more concerned, patient, caring and compassionate.
