Little Maria captured the hearts of Scotland when she sent Nicola Sturgeon an adorable video of her singing to the NHS.
In the precious video shared by the First Minister, Maria from Ayrshire sings, 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' to a montage of her staying indoors.
The video ends with a drawing that said: "Stay safe NHS" - a message which means a lot to little Maria, who was saved by the NHS herself.
Nicola Sturgeon shared the heart-warming video saying: "We all have heavy hearts just now. If you want to lift yours, watch this beautiful video of Maria."
The little girl had told her mum she wanted to make something special for the NHS, after they helped save her life last year.
In 2019, Maria was cared for by NHS nurses and doctors, after she suffered an autoimmune reaction to the cold.
Maria's mum Leeon Hey, who works as a college lecturer at West College Scotland, told Edinburgh Live, that Maria is ecstatic that so many NHS staff will get to see her video.
Leeon told Edinburgh Live: "Maria is a very special little girl. She’s so full of fun and energy with an amazing sense of humour."
"I often call her the tornado! Last year she had a tough time where she had an autoimmune reaction to the cold.
"She was cared for by the nurses and doctors of the NHS and she knows how special and amazing they all are.
"She’s very pleased that a lot of the nurses will see her song thanks to Nicola Sturgeon."
In a video sent to Edinburgh Live Maria said: "Last year when I was in the hospital for nearly a whole month, the NHS really helped me."
She continued: "They have done a lot of hard work for me and they have helped me and made me feel better."
"I think they have done a lot of hard work to help the people who have coronavirus."
