Exclusive: Leeds United tie down another key player with four-year contract

Luke Ayling has put pen to paper on a new Leeds United contract which commits his future to Elland Road for the next four years.

The 28-year-old signed his new deal at Elland Road today and rounds off a successful September which included Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas agreements too.

LeedsLive understands the right-back’s contract will be announced by the club on Tuesday morning ahead of the crunch clash with leaders West Bromwich Albion.

Meanwhile, an agreement is now in place with Mateusz Klich for terms on his own new contract. The international is expected to sign when his agent arrives from Poland.

As reported by LeedsLive, Klich's deal was expected to be done first, but talks between director of football Victor Orta and Ayling's agent accelerated across the past week with terms finally agreed on Monday.

Ayling has not featured for Marcelo Bielsa yet this season after suffering an ankle injury which required surgery over the summer.

However, the former Arsenal trainee is slowly building his match fitness with minutes for the under-23s, including 35 minutes on Monday at Thorp Arch.

With Dallas also pinned down for the next four years, United can be reassured they have two senior right-backs secured and pushing each other for minutes.

When Klich follows suit it will leave Pablo Hernandez and Gaetano Berardi as the remaining senior names with deals expiring next summer.
