It is only the beginning of February but it looks like actor Jay Soni has had quite an eventful start to the year. The actor, who has some 20 shows to his credit, joined the cast of Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai last December and is literally on cloud nine.
Jay Soni, who began his debut in showbiz with films and moved to television later, became a household name with the hugely successful Sasural Genda Phool. Jay Soni joined the show recently followed by the show moving up the ranking on the celluloid and he couldn't be happier.
Jay shares, 'I've dabbled pretty much with the daily soap space and I had come to a point in my career when I took a step back & chose the kind of work that would be instrumental for my growth. When Yeh Rishta came along, I didn't second guess it. I trust Rajan Sir to give me a platform worth my experience. But what followed has been unexpected. The love pouring has been just beyond imagination. It is special because, in a very short span of time, I've been able to connect with the audience.”
“I've been flooded with messages, there have been polls where I have found my space alongside some great actors. It has been overwhelming. Ever since social media existed, I carefully read the comments and feedback coming in from fans. I think that is my only reward and motivation to keep going,” shares the actor.
Jay Soni plays the character of Abhinav Sharma in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai which has been in existence for the last 15 years and is one of the biggest hits on Indian television. Apart from Jay, the show stars Pranali Rathod as Akshara and Harshad Chopda as Abhimanyu in lead roles.
