EXCLUSIVE: Hamilton could host Aberdeen clash next week as city gears up for local lockdown

Hamilton Accies would be willing to host the Scottish Premiership clash with Aberdeen with the city gearing up for new lockdown restirctions.

Lanarkshire Live Sport understands that Accies would be open to switching venues next Wednesday's trip to the Granite City.

This means they would play at New Douglas Park, should Pittodrie be put out of action by new measures.

This is an agreement that would have to be reached between the Dons, Accies and the SPFL in the midst of the current spike in coronavirus cases.

However, the Lanarkshire side currently expect the fixture to be unaffected by the outbreak.

People were today told by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon not to visit the city after a rise in Covid-19 figures.

Those who live there also face travel restrictions, which also puts Derek McInnes' sides visit to St Johnstone this weekend in the spotlight.
