Exclusive chance to see Good Omens TV series with special guests at Edinburgh International Film Festival

Fans of Good Omens, the forthcoming TV series based on Terry Pratchet and Neil Gaiman's beloved novel, will have a chance to see it on the big screen at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The festival says there will be "special guests" at the showing in June - raising the prospect stars David Tennant, Michael Sheen or perhaps Gaiman could make an appearance.

All six episodes of Good Omens are screening at the festival on Saturday, June 29.

The series, which will be available to stream on March 31, is directed by Scotland's own Douglas Mackinnon. His work includes Doctor Who, Sherlock and Line of Duty.

Several films featuring Scottish settings or talent were yesterday.

Good Omens is an epic tale of an angel (Sheen) and a demon (Tennant) joining forces to save the world.

It boasts a stellar cast, with no less than Benedict Cumberbatch playing the devil himself, and music by the brilliant David Arnold.

EIFF artistic director Mark Adams said: "Edinburgh International Film Festival has a long history of supporting and showcasing the very best Scotland has to offer and 2019 will be no exception.

"I am thrilled to be able to give this year’s audiences the chance to enjoy a huge range of films, talks, events and talent that highlight the very best of Scottish craftsmanship and skill."
