Newcastle United have handed a new contract to exciting young winger Adam Wilson.
The England youth international has had a nightmare spell with injuries but the Magpies are delighted to see him fit again and ready to push on next season.
Now 20, Wilson impressed in the second string two seasons ago and attracted interest from Blackburn Rovers who wanted to sign him on loan.
Wilson made seven appearances and scored twice for the Under-23s last term but the season was cut short due to the virus pandemic.
After suffering thigh and ankle injuries, the campaign was just getting started for Wilson.
Speaking about his injury issues, Wilson said last season: “When you're in the gym, all you see is everybody training outside and you just wish you were out there and you just can't wait to get back into it.
“When you're actually out there, it feels great and makes you remember you shouldn't ever take anything for granted."
