'Exciting' - Why Nottingham Forest fans are still hopeful of promotion

Nottingham Forest have nine league fixtures remaining to try and secure promotion to the Premier League.

Despite the defeat to Millwall last week, the Reds remain on track to mount a challenge for a return to the top flight this term.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side are currently in fifth place in the Sky Bet Championship standings, 10 points adrift of the automatic promotion places.

Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion occupy the top two spots in the league table, while Fulham, Brentford and Preston North End join Forest in making up the remaining play-off spots.

With nine league fixtures to go, Forest fans have been having their say on how many points the Reds will pick up this season.

Forest’s remaining matches includes away trips to Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County, Preston and Barnsley, whilst also welcoming Huddersfield Town, Bristol City, Fulham, Swansea and Stoke to the City Ground.

Here is a selection of what Forest fans have had to say.

Jamie Bonner: “Enough to make the play-offs then probably fall to a so called lesser team but I remain hopeful that somehow we go up at last!”

Chris Heathcote: “We should have at least 3/4 points to get in the play-offs.”

Gail Oldham: “It's a case of hopefully all, YOU REDS.”

Paul Masterson: “We are still there at this stage. Exciting!”

Aaron Lester: “Four wins out the 9 should guarantee play-offs I reckon.”

Carl Sargent: “None the way there playing.”

Andrew Poulton: “After Friday night's performance 0 lol.”
