Exciting plans for huge new Crosby development complete with restaurants, cafes and offices

Plans are in place for a huge new development in Crosby that would consist of creative workspaces, offices, restaurants and cafes.

The proposals are subject to permission from Sefton Council, but would be located on Liverpool Road in the coastal town - on an 11,000sq ft former car showroom site set to be called 'one one three'.

Proceedings for the scheme, which is being led by Next Big Thing Developments (NBTD), are at an early stage, but it's hoped to include more than 20 modern workspaces and open-plan studio office space, BusinessLive reports.

NBTD this week announced they had completed the acquisition of the site.

The firm said there are currently two regular restaurant/ cafe units proposed, both with dedicated pavement space and front door access to the main street, as well as a larger, self-contained 1,100 sq ft unit also set to be used as a restaurant.

A spokesman for the development issued a statement on Tuesday telling BusinessLive: "The site has been acquired for a mixed use development focusing on studio offices, creative workspaces and restaurant / cafe uses, subject to planning."

It's hoped that subject to planning approval from the council, it will deliver open-plan studio offices around a central atrium, along with the workshop spaces and cafes/restaurants. NBTD says the development will sit well close to the "regenerating Crosby town centre, [which] is becoming a popular destination for bars, restaurants, cafes and independent retails".

Among the developments carried out by Liverpool-based Next Big Thing over the past eight years are Jordan Street Studios in the Baltic Triangle, and Clock Tower Park in Fazakerley.

The former is made up of 30 creative, design, digital and media companies and a coffee shop.

The latter development in Fazakerley is home to more than 40 firms, with the scheme having completed its fifth phase in December last year.
