'Exciting' new ownership for pub in Kimberley town centre

Now owners have announced they've taken over a pub in Kimberley town centre.

The Gate Inn, in Main Street, is getting ready for a reopening under new management.

In a message to customers, the new owners said work was underway behind the scenes and that they look forward to welcoming punters back once it reopens its doors.

The pub posted online: "Hello Everyone! We're really excited to announce that The Gate Inn is officially under new ownership!

"We're very busy trying to get everything ready for our reopening.

"We will keep you updated as to when this will be. Hope to see you all in here soon!"

The pub went on the market after the previous tenant decided to retire from the trade. It was described as "an excellent and well-presented town centre pub" on the FindMyPub website.

The new owners shared pictures of ongoing work inside the pub, saying they were "happy" with how the work is going.

An official reopening date has not yet been announced.
