Exciting Everton U23s double-winning striker signs new Blues contract

Everton U23s double-winner Manasse Mampala has signed a new contract with the club.

The 18-year-old impressed as part of David Unsworth's side last term which won both the Premier League 2 title and the Premier League Cup later in the campaign.

The youngster signed his first professional deal with the club last summer, and has been rewarded for his impressive work last term with a new contract.

Mampala is likely to compete with Ellis Simms and Fraser Hornby for a starting role next term as Bassala Sambou looks set to move away from Goodison Park.

And the youngster is delighted to sign his new deal and praised the Blues' coaching staff for helping him to improve over his time at the club.

"It feels great to sign this new deal,” he told evertonfc.com . “It shows the hard work I’ve put in over the years has paid off.

"Being in the Under-23s squad last season was fantastic, especially as we had such success.

"We’ve got a group of quality players and playing with them has helped me improve. The coaching staff have been great with me at Everton since day one, too. They push you all the time to be the best you can be.

"Now I just want to keep working hard, play as many games as I can next season, and develop every part of my game."
