The Kyle Centre in Ayr High Street is to be transformed into a multi-screen cinema complex, Ayrshire Live can exclusively reveal this morning.
It's understood that a deal has been struck that will see the centre undergo a multi-million pound redevelopment to bring the latest Hollywood blockbusters to the heart of the town centre.
In our special report earlier this month, Ayrshire Live exclusively broke the news that the centre was closing for good, in its present format, as a retail shopping outlet.
We also told how ambitious plans to redevelop the centre were "still in the pipeline."
Now a deal has been secured and an official announcement on the eight-screen cinema plans is being made later today.

Graham Hamilton, asset manager at Alloway (Scotland LLP), the current owners of the centre, admitted recently: "We have been working extremely hard on our redevelopment plans and securing an anchor occupier.
"This will be a leisured-based operator and complement the swimming/leisure centre which South Ayrshire Council (SAC) are proposing on the Hourstons/Arran Mall site.
“Our plan is very much in line with SAC’s plan for the rejuvenation of the town centre with the creation of a leisure ‘hub’.”
It's believed that cinema firm Arc are the company involved in the massive redevelopment plans.
