Given last year's Oblivion remaster and the renewed interest in Fallout thanks to Amazon's TV show, Bethesda doing remasters of Fallout 3 and New Vegas seems extremely likely at some point in the near future. For the time-being, however, they remain hypothetical, and fans of the post-apocalyptic franchise just suffered a dose of false hope when a Steam glitch indicated something may be happening.
As noticed by a user on Reddit (via PC Gamer), recently, you couldn't leave Steam reviews on Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas for some inexplicable reason. When you went to do so, an error would pop up reading, "You must wait until this product has been released before writing a review for it."
Wait for it to be released? These games are both going on two decades old. They were originally released when the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 were cutting edge. By the stated rule, we should be able to leave reviews to our heart's content, is what I’m saying. Unless there’s some form of big update imminent?

That's what people started to ponder. "In the weeks leading up to the Oblivion remaster they changed that store page a fair bit, they removed trailers and altered screenshots etc. Not saying this actually means anything yet but they did edit the old store page for Oblivion," says one comment.
"With recent rumors of both games getting remastered, the Fallout page countdown, the Fallout TV show happening and only those two games being affected rn, it's too much of a coincidence to not be," says another. "Don't do that, don't give me hope," another Redditor adds.
Well, in the spirit of keeping expectations in check, I can tell you this is simply a sporadic issue across Valve's marketplace at the minute. Batman: Arkham City and Kerbal Space Program both showed the same message at points over the last couple of days.
Another, slightly stranger happening, is that if you look at the Fallout tab on Steam, it says there are 12 games, but only ten appear. This one's a little harder to explain away immediately, but it's probably just an internal error due to soundtracks being separate products or some such, and not evidence Todd Howard’s about to remedy your January blues in grand fashion.
Sorry, wastelanders, the wait continues. At least Fallout season 2 is currently releasing on Amazon Prime Video week-to-week to scratch the nuclear itch in the meantime.
