The Scottish Crannog Centre is preparing to welcome visitors again with an opening date of April 26.
The 2021 season at the Iron Age museum at Loch Tay will see the centre open seven days a week, with tours running every hour from 10am and the last entry at 4pm.
Visitors can expect a guided tour of the exhibition and crannog roundhouse, plus immersive demonstrations of technology, textiles, cooking, and other Iron Age skills.
Mike Benson, managing director of the Scottish Crannog Centre said: “All of us here at the Crannog Centre cannot wait to open our doors.
“The museum is a special place and we’ve been working even harder to make it even more magical.”
A team of young apprentices employed from August last year are also keen to get back to work so they can complete their SVQ training.
Customer service apprentice Georgia Holmes said: “I am really enjoying being an apprentice at the crannog. I have gained so much new knowledge and skills which will benefit me so much in the future.
“I’m really excited for when we reopen. I can’t wait to put a smile on visitors faces after such a long time being closed.
“I’m looking forward to using the skills that I’ve learnt whilst working from home and put them into practice at the crannog. I’m so excited for the crannog community to be back together in person.”
To comply with government guidelines, the Scottish Crannog Centre will continue to implement social distancing, health and hygiene protocols and limited visitor numbers, so booking in advance is essential.
