Nottinghamshire Sainsbury's supermarket stocking hugely popular Prime energy drink

Bottles of the popular Prime energy drink have been placed on many Sainsbury's shelves. On Tuesday (February 21), the supermarket became the latest retailer to stock the drink by KSI and Logan Paul, which has been selling out across the country.

The Balderton store near Newark has been well stocked. The flavours tropical punch, blue raspberry, lemon lime and black cherry could be seen on the shelves.

However, there were no orange and mango bottles spotted, which is a limited-edition flavour of the drink. The retailer was selling the drinks for £2 and £2.50. However it wasn't the same picture when we visited branches across the city centre.

Shoppers were also pleased to see bottles of Prime in Morrisons Netherfield store, where one individual reported being able to get four different flavours of the 500ml drink.

Prime drinks have exploded in popularity among teenagers in recent weeks. YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul have reportedly already made £8.3million from the product worldwide.

It comes as a doctor previously issued a warning over the drink. Dr Deborah Lee, from Dr Fox Online Pharmacy, told the Mirror: "I would not recommend children drink Prime energy drinks or other energy drinks for children of any age.

"Children don't need energy drinks anyway – they have plenty of energy. If your child is lacking in energy take them to see their GP, do not give them an energy drink.

"It encourages them to want sweet drinks, when plain water is the answer and helps them develop a sweet tooth which is not good for the future in terms of a healthy diet and controlling their weight." A Sainsbury's spokesperson said: "We know our customers actively seek the latest in product innovation.

"We are excited to be launching Prime products in store from February 21."
