NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta and leader of Opposition in Delhi assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Saturday claimed that the new excise policy of promotes alcoholism and is an insult to Gandhian principles.
Gupta said instead of focusing on liquor, the government should focus on good healthcare facilities for the people of Delhi.
“Youths are the builders of the nation, but AAP government is drowning them in liquor,” Gupta said.
In reaction to BJP charges, Delhi government said, “Not even a single additional liquor shop is being opened in Delhi. The number of liquor shops will continue to be the same as it was under the old excise policy.
“The BJP leaders are very well aware of this fact and they are deliberately misguiding the public due to their vested interests,” said the government.
