Exchange Street car park attack leaves man hospitalised

Detectives in Belfast are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault on Friday.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was in the front passenger seat of a vehicle in the Exchange Street car park, when he was attacked by another man. He was grabbed by the neck and punched repeatedly to the head and face.

It happened some time before 11:25pm last night, October 21.

Detective Sergeant Young said: "A man in his 20s, who was in the front passenger seat of a vehicle was attacked by another man in his 20s who grabbed him around the neck before punching him repeatedly to the head and face.

"The injured man sustained a number of facial fractures and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

"We would ask anyone with any information about this assault to call detectives on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 280 22/10/22, or to submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
