“Exceptional tuning stability, bright and articulate tone, and enhanced output”: Pro musicians’ go-to guitar strings, Cleartone Strings – founded by music legend Phil Everly – are now available in the UK and Ireland

Boxes of cleartone strings.

Thanks to the appointment of Strings & Things Ltd as the new distributor, Cleartone Strings are now back in the UK and Ireland. With the company putting quality at the forefront, this collaboration means even more musicians can reap the benefits of Cleartone.

Founded in 1998 by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers under the moniker Everly Strings, the company's main ethos was always to provide durable, high-quality guitar strings.

Fast forward to 2008, and after years of research, Everly and his team introduced a unique coating treatment that extends string life without sacrificing tone, which inspired the new name, Cleartone.

“We are thrilled to partner exclusively with Strings and Things UK, a company that shares our passion for innovation and quality in the music industry. This collaboration feels like a natural fit,” comments Cleartone’s General Manager, Michael Loscalzo.

Each string is expertly crafted in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the patented treatment, applied at just a 0.5-micron thickness, engineered to never flake or fray, no matter how hard you strum. What's more, Cleartone Strings guarantees that the coating can boost your guitar's volume “by up to 36% and sustain by up to 48%.”

There are different series under the Cleartone umbrella. First off is the Standard Series, the brand’s flagship electric set. These nickel-plated steel strings are manufactured in the U.S. in small batches to guarantee premium quality and are crafted with “only the highest grade steel.”

Moreover, each string is wound around a high-carbon hex core, ensuring “exceptional tuning stability, bright and articulate tone, and enhanced output” – essentially, engineered for players who need a set of strings they can truly bet on day in day out.

Up next is the Electric Heavy Series: each string is crafted with a thicker core wire to ensure “beefier tones” and “high-volume play.” As the name suggests, it's designed to withstand intense playing styles without sacrificing exceptional playability and tone.

For acoustic players, Cleartone’s Acoustic Strings are available in both 80/20 Bronze for a brighter tone and a sparkling top end, and Phosphor Bronze for those who prefer a richer and more rounded sound.

With the EQ Hybrid Metal Acoustic, Cleatone boasts “the world's first materially tuned acoustic strings,” carefully crafted to produce “an even response across all strings and frequencies.”

The wound strings of an EQ set are also manufactured using various alloys to emphasize each string's natural voice. For instance, the lower E's are made out of copper due to its increased bass response, while the A and D are made using the purest Phosphor Bronze to highlight that mid-range fullness.

And for those guitarists who have a penchant for nylon strings, you'll be pleased to know that Cleartone's Sevilla Classical Nylon Strings promise a smooth and comfortable feel, coupled with a distinct and resonant tone that accentuates the richness of the traditional classical guitar sound.

All Cleartone products are now available from guitar shops across the UK and Ireland.
