Excellent Nottingham Forest thrash Birmingham City - player ratings

Nottingham Forest picked up their first Championship win of the season as they thrashed Birmingham City 3-0 at the City Ground.

Here, we rate how each Forest player performed.

Aro Muric: Had little to do, but looked assured aside from one really poor pass. Hard to read much into his performance as he had the best seat in the house to watch Forest play so well. 6/10

Matty Cash: Defensively his best performance yet. One excellent piece of covering in the second half showed the progress he is making. 8/10

Michael Dawson: Got his first Reds goal since 2004 but will be just as pleased with an excellent defensive performance when up against Lukas Jutkiewicz. 8/10

Joe Worrall: A good, steady performance at the back where he did his job well throughout. 7/10

Forest's Michael Dawson celebrates making it 3-0 (Dan Westwell)

Jack Robinson: Excellent. Will feel he should have scored in the second half, but got forwards well down the left and gave nothing away at the back. 8/10

Ben Watson: A show of faith to pick him and leave Silva on the bench. The veteran played well though and kept Forest ticking over in midfield, allowing others to get forwards. 7/10

Alfa Semedo: Really good first half as he made life easier for Grabban. Withdrawn surprisingly early, but another good performance. 7/10

Samba Sow: Looks a real find. All action performance as fans continue to take to him. Covered every blade of grass. 8/10

Joe Lolley: Looked back to his best scoring one and making another in the first half. Not bad considering it seemed like he was injured in the warm up! 8/10

Sammy Ameobi: Should have scored in the second half, when he missed a sitter. However, he was lively in the first half and tremendous in the second until withdrawn. 8/10

Lewis Grabban celebrates making it 2-0 in front of the Birmingham City fans with Sammy Ameobi (Dan Westwell)

Lewis Grabban: With more support than in the first two games he was much more involved. Scored the second goal, but will be kicking himself for heading another chance wide. 8/10

Subs: Silva (for Semedo 57): The game suited him with Birmingham all over the place. Looked assured pulling the strings. 7/10

Adomah (for Sow 73): Put a chance on a plate for Grabban and went close with a right footed shot. Good cameo. 7/10

Joe Lolley waves to the Birmingham supporters (Dan Westwell)

Mir (for Ameobi 78): Produced one outrageous effort that flashed wide as he looked to make the most of his minutes. 6/10

Subs not used: Samba, Ribeiro, Figueiredo, Jenkinson
