Excel for PC workshop: A masterclass for teams

Excel isn’t just for arranging data – it gives users the tools to interrogate data to find valuable new insights. This interactive masterclass unlocks some of the software’s most important functions.

During the course, you’ll learn how Excel’s formulas and functions open up new ways to organise and interpret data. You’ll also learn how to use pivot tables, enabling you to analyse figures to spot and quantify trends.

Session 1. Formula and function writing

  • Beyond SUM: IF, VLOOKUP and INDEX
  • Character building: formulas and text data
  • Mixing and matching: nesting functions in formulas
  • An introduction to array formulas

Session 2. Pivot tables

  • What they do, and why you’ll want to use them
  • Constructing the table: the three got-to-knows
  • Resetting and refreshing the table: moving fields around, introducing new ones, dumping unwanted ones
  • Grouping the numbers
  • Filtering data with the Slicer
