Snow is on the way in Scotland, with some flurries expected to fall as early as this week.
Scotland is set for some blustery days with showers throughout - and some showers are likely to turn to snow, according to BBC News.
The Met Office has hinted snow could fall as early as Thursday.
It comes after temperatures started to plummet this week following a mild start to the month due to an 'unusual' weakening in the polar vortex.
Snow could even fall by Halloween - a 'rare' phenomenon last seen 13 years ago in 2008.
According to meteorologists, high intensity winds and severe cold could last until November as the polar vortex goes into reverse.

Forecasters predict Thursday is likely to feel much chillier than recent days with wintery showers over the hills.
Temperatures are dropping to freezing in the Highlands in the small hours this week.
A forecaster for the Met Office said: "From Thursday, temperatures will fall below average for most, increasing the likelihood of snow over higher ground in the North."
The central belt will see a lot of rain as today draws to a close, will cold and windy night like highs of just 4-5C.
Scotland's north coast is set for strong winds likely to turn to gale force winds throughout today, with windy conditions remaining throughout the week.
Gusts of up up 55mph are likely throughout, reports BBC News.
