'Exactly what we need' - Arsenal fans back Edu decision amid reports of Matteo Guendouzi bust-up

Arsenal supporters have taken to social media after reports of midfielder Matteo Guendouzi having a bust-up with a teammate during the club's warm-weather training camp in Dubai.

The Athletic are reporting that the Frenchman's omission from the matchday squad against Newcastle United was due to this reason.

In addition, the report states that Guendouzi was deemed the aggressor and that head coach Mikel Arteta had to step in and break up with the clash with the teammate who has yet to be revealed.

And there was reportedly more disciplinary action for the midfielder.

It's also being claimed that the club's technical director Edu reportedly had some strong words for the 20-year-old for a separate incident.

Guendouzi allegedly 'removed his shirt at an external event and waved it around in support of a local music act'.

The Gunners ace has since returned to the matchday squad, he was a starter in Greece as Arsenal beat Olympiacos last Thursday and was a substitute in the 3-2 win over Everton on Sunday.

However, reports of his bust-up has garnered a strong reaction from supporters as on Monday.

Many Arsenal fans have a differing stance. Some are calling for Guendouzi to be sold in the summer transfer window, while others are adamant that he is young and will learn from this episode.

Take a look at what's been said on Twitter as one fan in particular has backed Edu's decision to reprimand Guendouzi...

A line under the matter does appear to have been drawn, with Arteta explaining his decision to drop Guendouzi against Newcastle.

"I just do my selection in regard to how they train, play and behave," the Spaniard revealed during his pre-Olympiacos press conference.

"It was about the way we train."
