Morrisons has laid out exactly what's inside its £15 School Meal Box, as it stepped up capacity to see them sent to more people, and even Marcus Rashford aproves.
Sent out free to children who need it most while schools are closed, the supermarket was keen to make sure it was a good as possible.
So nutritionist Dr Hayley Marson filled it to the brim with enough food for 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches and a fair bit leftover.
The boxes are then packed and delivered by DPD the next day, with parents given tracking information.
Rashford said: "Morrisons has acted by example in covering the deficit caused by children isolating and now acting to guarantee children on free school meals receive the substance and nutrition that they require and deserve during what is a difficult time for all. A big thank you to all involved."
Morrisons’ stores have been working with their local schools to provide isolating children who would normally be eligible for free-school meals with food for breakfast and lunches since November.
But by moving the process out of stores and into its food box plant, tens of thousands of School Meal Boxes can now be provided each week.

Morrisons' Rebecca Singleton said: "Since November, schools have been telling us they’ve had difficulty getting free school meals to children as many parents cannot get to a supermarket during the pandemic.

DPD chief executive Dwain McDonald said: “This is a really brilliant initiative. We are delighted to support it and I know our people will step up and get right behind this.”
