Exactly how the Championship play-offs are set to play out for Swansea City, Barnsley, Brentford and Bournemouth

It's been a grueling Championship season for all involved, but Swansea City's season is anything but over.

After squeaking into the top six in the most dramatic of circumstances last season, the Swans' place in the play-off mix has been a lot more comfortable this time around.

But, as we all know, the play-offs so often pay little regard to the previous 46 games.

Swansea take on Barnsley this time around, while Brentford are aiming to reach Wembley for the second time in as many years by overcoming Bournemouth in the other semi-final.

The first leg for both ties has been penciled in for May 17, with the return leg five days later.

The two victorious sides from both games will then head to Wembley on Saturday, May 29.

The Swans will have to dig deep if they are to right the wrongs of last season's post-season showing, and perhaps offer some long overdue revenge for the 2006 League One play-off final at the Millennium Stadium, which saw the Welsh side agonisingly miss out at the hands of the Reds on penalties.

However, the bookies aren't quite so convinced that the Swans will have what it takes.

According to the The Pools, Steve Cooper's men are the least likely of all the four sides to join Watford and champions Norwich City in the Premier League next season.

Indeed, it's the victors of the other semi-final that the bookies believe will emerge victorious at Wembley.

Thomas Frank's Brentford, Swansea's conquerors last season, are the clear favourites, closely followed by their opponents this time around, Bournemouth.
