Glasgow weather: Exact times thunderstorms are predicted to hit as city swelters in 30C heat

Glasgow is set to bake today, with temperatures expected to hit highs of 30 degrees, according to the Met Office.

However, it looks like the weather can't really make its mind up, because alongside the sweltering temperatures and sunshine, we have warnings for thunderstorms in place from this afternoon through until Saturday.

The good news is it looks like the initial warning for thunderstorms today has passed and we'll be in for a day of sunshine - and just the odd cloud.

Tomorrow is a different story, however, with the Met Office predicting thunderstorms to come rolling in by 12pm and continuing until 3pm. However, temperatures will remain high at around 25 degrees - so it looks like we're in for some more humidity.

The forecast reads: "Brighter spells and showers, these turning heavy at times with risk hail and thunder. Temperatures still seasonally high, but lower than Thursdays maximums. Winds light southeasterly. Maximum temperature 25 °C."

Meanwhile, the Met Office's yellow weather alert for thunderstorms have also been updated. It is now in place from 4pm today until 9am tomorrow (Friday) morning. A second warning has then been issued from 12pm tomorrow till 9am on Saturday, with the chance of "flooding and disruption in a few places."

We suppose you'll have to bring your sun cream and your raincoat with you if you're out and about over the next couple of days then!
