Exact location of today's 366 new Covid-19 cases in Ireland as three areas see concerning jump

Three counties saw a concerning increase in new cases today in the latest figures released by the Department of Health.

Across the country a further 366 infections were announced this evening, while sadly 11 further people with Covid-19 have died.

And Roscommon, which has reported just 108 new cases in total over the last 14 days, saw a big jump with 24 new infections today.

While Limerick continues to see a rise after a spike yesterday, with 44 further cases.

Tipperary was another area to see a noticeable increase, with 18 new cases.

However there was some better news in the capital, as Dublin's rate of cases continues to slow down, with less than 100 reported today.

Speaking on today's figures, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said: “I am increasingly concerned that the positive trends we had seen recently have not been maintained.

“The 5-day moving average of daily cases has increased from an average of 350 cases on the 11 November to 424 today.

“We have two weeks to continue in our efforts to drive down community transmission of this disease as much as possible. The lower the incidence the more flexibility the country will have in easing measures."
