Exact location of 265 new Covid-19 cases as several counties report jump in infections

Latest figures released by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) show 265 new cases of Covid-19, along with six more tragic deaths around the country.

The overall number of cases reported in Ireland now stands at 73,491, while the number of deaths has hit 2,086.

Today's increased case numbers come after infections grew in Dublin, Louth, Limerick, Wicklow, Galway and several other counties.

Few counties fared better today than yesterday, though Meath and Roscommon did report zero cases.

Ireland's 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 now stands at 78.3 – a further drop from 79.7 yesterday.

Our seven-day incidence rate now stands at 38.2, up from 36.9 yesterday.

As of 2pm today, there were 232 patients fighting Covid-19 in Irish hospitals, of which 27 were in ICU.

There have been 14 additional hospitalisations in the last 24 hours.

Of the cases reported on Thursday, 131 were women and 133 were men.

Of those, 66% were under 45 years of age, with the median age standing at 33 years of age.
