Exact date Aldi’s sell-out heated airer is back in stock ahead of New Year

As energy bills continue to rise and Brits search for ways to cut household costs, Aldi has revealed that it’s bringing back its sell-out heated airers just in time for the new year. Their popular Specialbuy sold out in February this year, and again in October.

But shoppers who are still desperate to get their hands on one will be able to do so before the end of the year.

Costing less than 7p an hour to run the £39.99 Specialbuy is much cheaper than using the tumble drier (more than 30p), and shoppers will be able to pre-order it online from December 18, or find it in stores after Christmas from December 27.

Aldi’s 230W Folded Wing Heated Airer features 20 heating tubes that rapidly heat up as soon as it’s plugged in. Thanks to its large foldable wings that provide plenty of space for clothes and included cover to help speed up drying, shoppers won’t need to hang around waiting for clothes to dry.

Perfect for smaller spaces, the lightweight, folding design makes it easy to pack away when not in use.

We’ve tried and tested the airer for ourselves , and found that it dried a full washload in around four hours, costing around 28p.

We said: “Plugging in the airer, it took around three or four minutes to significantly heat up before we loaded it up with washing. We filled the centre with the majority of the load, using the ends to dry thicker items like jumpers and cardigans.

“We also discovered that the airer kicks out a fair amount of heat into the room, so it’s well worth having it set up in the room where you spend the most time to avoid popping the heating on. Alternatively, you could pop it in the bedroom and have it nice and cosy before bed.

“It’s certainly faster than a regular clothes maid, and cheaper than a tumble drier to use. Not only that, but it’s perfect for those delicates, knits and more expensive clothes that you don’t want to risk putting in the dryer.”

For those looking for even more drying space, Aldi’s Three Tier Heated Airer will also be returning. The £89.99 Specailbuy will be available online only on December 18, and offers more drying space than the cheaper model.

This airer sees 36 drying bars and versatile open-sided shelves that provide easy access, as well as a cover to retain heat, making light work of drying clothes and sheets.

Our review expert Narin Flanders tried it out when her dryer broke last winter and said: “The first thing I was impressed about with the Aldi airer was how you could use it straight out of the box. I also loved how it has two switches so you can use half of it for smaller loads.

“The airer comes with a full-size cover and two sets each of heat proof pegs and nets to dry delicate clothes on. I've found it most useful just hanging things directly on the bars, but can see the benefit of these for larger items. For us though, this airer has been a dream for drying children's clothes, PJs, undies, tea towels and all the smaller items you can dry relatively quickly and then put away.

“Not only has it become a staple of my laundry routine but I'd happily buy another one if I needed to. We are going to happily remain a tumble dryer free house for a while longer!”

But those looking for a bargain will need to be quick, because as with all Specialbuys once they’re gone, they’re gone.
