A €100 child benefit boost was announced for all families in the Government's cost of living supports package earlier this week.
The timely support was part of a €410m social welfare package aimed at helping people with rising bills and the cost of living crisis.
In a welcome boost, the bonus will be paid per child, not per family, and is just a few months away.

The Government has confirmed that the the €100 boost will be paid in June. It is likely that the payment will be made on the same day as the normal child benefit, which will be Tuesday, June 6.
The new social protection package will also give families a once-off €100 increase in the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance in July as well as a bonus lump sum payment of €200 for long-term social welfare recipients.
The bonus welfare payment will be issued sometime in April. A €200 payment for Working Family Payment recipients who have not received the lump sum on their primary payment, will also be paid in April.
