Ex Tottenham Hotspur forward Rayan Clarke scores for Black Cats as trialist

Former Tottenham Hotspurs youngster Rayan Clarke has scored for Sunderland Under-23's this afternoon in their Premier League 2 clash with Crystal Palace.

According to Soccerways, the 19-year-old was the trialist who grabbed the third goal for the Black Cats, as they were defeated 4-3 by the Eagles.

Forgotten man Aiden McGeady also made his comeback in the game and managed 61 minutes before being replaced by Clarke.

The forward tucked away a neat finish in a crowded penalty box, but it wasn't enough to give Elliott Dickman's side the three points.

His arrival on Wearside is another example of how the Black Cats are hoping to improve the standard of their youth side.

Summer addition Mitch Curry was among the goals again today, pouncing upon a loose ball, racing towards goal and finishing well.

Sunderland XI: Patterson, Wearne, Beaumont, Wilding, Taylor, Diamond, Neil, Curry, McGeady, Steels

Subs: Dunne, Richardson, Trialist, Wombwell, Hackett.
