Ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino hints at next move amid Man United interest

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his desire to return to the Premier League, amid ongoing speculation linking him with Manchester United.

The Argentine was sacked by Spurs last year, replaced by Jose Mourinho, and has been away from football since as he awaits his next managerial position.

A wealth of clubs have been linked with a move for Pochettino, including United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, but he remains out of action for the time being.

However, his latest comments will put clubs in the Premier League on alert as he has admitted he is keen on returning to English football.

Jose Mourinho on Spurs' progress under him

"To be honest, I would love to work in the Premier League. It's going to be difficult, I know, and for now it's a moment to wait and we'll see what happens," he told the In The Pink Podcast.

"It's a moment of recovery, to think about yourself a little bit, and to be ready because in football always something can happen and you need to be ready.

"I'm ready and waiting for a new challenge. I have the belief and confidence that the next challenge will be fantastic.

"If we move to Europe, we are going to miss England."

According to the Transfer Podcast, Pochettino is interested in becoming Manchester United manager, with his representatives ready to open discussions with the Old Trafford club.
