Ex-Tottenham and Man United star tips Conte for 'magical things' and Premier League title charge

Louis Saha believes his former club Tottenham Hotspur can do 'magical things' in the Premier League with Antonio Conte at the helm next season.

Conte has only been at Spurs since November, yet guided them to fourth place in the Premier League last season and back into the Champions League for the coming campaign. Tottenham have also backed the Italian with three signings already since the end of the season in Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma and with £150million pumped into the club by owners ENIC more reinforcements are on the way.

Saha, who played up front for Spurs and Manchester United, believes that the north London outfit will be the ones to watch next season in the Premier League.

"With a manager like Antonio Conte, Tottenham can do magical things. The Premier League is a different animal, but he's shown time and time again that he can produce magical things and Harry Kane and Son are scary, they've also got a good defence," he told BoyleSports EPL Betting. "Whether they can mount a title charge will be Tottenham's biggest challenge next season because the Premier League is the hardest competition to win."

Saha has been impressed by the arrival of Bissouma from Brighton, one of the best performing midfielders in the Premier League in recent years in a deal that could be worth more than £30million all in.

"Yves Bissouma is a terrific player and he can help with the balance of many aspects of the team and he can be a big asset to the club," he said. "He can play box-to-box football and help defensively as much as with the spells during games where the team disappears mentally."

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min will continue to lead the line for Spurs, with the latter lifting the Premier League Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah last season and the former having won it three times in the past. Former striker Saha believes the arrival of Erling Haaland at Manchester City will give both a real run for their money in the goal stakes.

"It's going to be very interesting to see how Harry Kane and Son cope - they both have a very special partnership and it's really hard for defenders to contain them because they have such high work-rates so I'm really excited to see how they get on next season," he said. "Erling Haaland coming to the Premier League is really good news for all football fans, it's exciting and I just can't wait to watch next season because Haaland will stretch teams and as a defender you can never leave him alone."
