Ex-Titans offensive lineman Andy Levitre retires from NFL

Former Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Andy Levitre has officially retired from the NFL after 10 seasons.

He took to social media on Tuesday to announce the news and reflect on his career.

“I fell in love with the city of Nashville while playing for the Titans,” he wrote. “I also had to rush out after my first playoff game with the Falcons to attend the birth of my first child. Unfortunately, due to injury my body won’t allow me to continue any longer. Thank you to my wife and children, my family, friends, coaches, teammates and all of the fans who have supported me on this journey.”

The 6-foot-2, 303-pounder tore his triceps in 2017, and then suffered the same injury last season. Before this, Levitre was always on the field, starting all 16 games over eight seasons.

The 32-year old, who turns 33 tomorrow, originally joined the Buffalo Bills in 2009, where he spent four seasons (2009-12) before signing with the Titans. After two seasons in Nashville (2013-14), Levitre found a place on the Atlanta Falcons’ roster in 2015.

Levitre made 143 appearances over his professional career, all of which were starts.
