Ex-Titans HC Jeff Fisher hasn’t accepted a job offer with the XFL

Former Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher has been contacted by the newly forming XFL, but that doesn’t mean he’s accepted any offers with the league.

A recent report by CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora made it appear highly likely that Fisher would return to Houston to coach the XFL franchise there.

It’s clear Fisher has taken interest in developmental leagues, as he was present at the first Orlando Apollos game of the season, a team of the recently dissolved AAF.

But per SI.com’s Charlotte Wilder, Fisher hasn’t reached an agreement with any team for a coaching job — let alone specifically XFL’s Houston team.

Fisher, 61, coached in the NFL for 22 years, recording an overall record of 173-165-1. He made six playoff appearances and one Super Bowl with the Titans, who he coached from 1995-2010.

He  led the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams from 2012-16, failing to make the playoffs over the course of five seasons, going 31-45-1.

Expect an official announcement on the potential hiring of Fisher to come soon.
