Ex Test Cricketer Stuart MacGill Was Allegedly Kidnapped, Assaulted & Threatened With A Gun

Here’s an unexpected news story this morning: former Australian cricketer Stuart MacGill was allegedly kidnapped in Sydney and threatened with a gun last month in an hour-long ordeal.

Police allege that MacGill was approached by a man in Cremorne around 8pm on April 14, before two other men popped up and allegedly forced him into a car.

They then allege that MacGill was drive to a property in Bringelly – a suburb an hour’s drive away – where he was allegedly assaulted and threatened with a weapon.

MacGill was then released about an hour later, in the nearby Belmore area.

The incident was reported to officers from the North Shore Police Area Command the following week, on April 20.

This morning, four men – aged 27, 29, 42 and 46 have been arrested.

“The men were taken to local police stations where charges are expected to be laid,” NSW Police said in a statement.

Search warrants are being executed at Sutherland, Caringbah, Brighton Le-Sands, Banksia and Marrickville. Investigations are continuing.
